A brief History

Blue Cross Ghana is a Christian non-governmental organization dedicated to preventing and reducing the harm caused by alcohol and other substance abuse in Ghana. Established in 1906 and affiliated with the International Blue Cross (Switzerland), the organization has a strong legacy of advocacy, education, counselling, and rehabilitation. With a vision to promote decent and dignified lifestyles, especially among the youth, Blue Cross Ghana works through four core areas:

  1. Education on Prevention
  2. Advocacy for Drug and Alcohol Policy Reform
  3. Counselling and Rehabilitation
  4. Life Skills Training and Integration (LTI)
The organization reaches schools and communities through impactful programs like the BC-School Awareness Project, Self Help Groups, and the upcoming Kwabeng Rehabilitation Centre. In partnership with key institutions such as the FDA, Ministry of Health, and NACOC, Blue Cross Ghana champions a healthier, drug-free society—restoring lives and reshaping futures across the nation.
